Founded in 1825 and fully renovated in 2018, the historic distillery now produces exclusively Ballechin, its heavily peated single malt at 50 ppm, rivaling Islay’s finest. This expression, aged in a first-fill bourbon barrel, balances powerful peat with fruit, spice, and vanilla complexity. Bright gold in color, it opens with smoked bacon, candied pear, and violet, before evolving into herbal, chocolatey, and floral notes. The long finish layers silky vanilla, warm ashes, aniseed, and menthol, showcasing both richness and freshness.
