This Jamaica Rum, distilled in a Vendôme pot still with an ester content of 550-700 g per hectolitre of pure alcohol, stands as a testament to the distillery's rich history dating back to 1780. Now owned by the government-run National Rums of Jamaica, the rum exhibits resplendent brilliance and elegance. The nose captivates with warm sugar cane, ripe banana, white florals, salted butter caramel, and bourbon vanilla. The palate unfolds with a full-bodied and creamy texture, offering toffee, fresh walnut, ginger, and an exotic, vegetal mid-palate. The long, heady finish introduces molasses, crème brûlée, tar, rum baba, and flambéed banana notes, leaving an exotic and complex aftertaste. The empty glass reveals a mix of pineapple, camphoric, ashy, and slightly rubbery aromas.
